DOUGLASVILLE — Authorities say a man has died of a heart attack while trying to break up a dog fight in Douglas County.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the incident occurred Friday afternoon on Mitchell Mill Road off North Burnt Hickory Road near Douglasville. Sheriff Phil Miller says the man’s two dogs were attacking a smaller dog and the man attempted to intervene. Miller says the man had a heart attack and died at the scene.
