Liberty County linebacker scheduled to visit Clemson

POSTED: July 23, 2012 9:58 a.m.

According to a report by Michael Burns on TigersNow.com, Liberty County high School linebacker Raekwon McMillan was scheduled to visit Clemson last Wednesday.
The five-star recruit for the class of 2014 has nearly 20 offers from Bowl Championship Series Division I schools and recently tweeted that Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson are among his top three choices for now.
McMillan already visited Ohio State and will return next weekend for the Buckeyes’ Friday Night Lights Camp. He told TigersNow.com that the Buckeyes still are high on his list.
“I’m starting to build a relationship with the coaches, so you could say that,” McMillan said. “They’re the team that’s recruiting me the hardest.”
He said that UGA also is recruiting him and it’s where his current high school coach, Kirk Warner, played tight end in the late 1980s.
“I didn’t grow up a Georgia fan, but my family was,” McMillan said. “They’ve been on me hard. They’ve got a good chance. I’m pretty interested in anybody who’s showing high interest in me right now. Basically, it’s going to be based off the coaching staff and whether or not I build a strong relationship with them. I just don’t want to go anywhere I’m going to feel that I’m not at home.”

The visit to Clemson was McMillan’s first and he told TigersNow.com he was looking forward to it.
“A lot of people have been telling me it’s real nice, that Clemson has some real nice facilities and it’s a great college environment,” McMillan said. “I just want to see it for myself for the first time.”
McMillan has said, however, that he will not announce his commitment until the Under Armour All-American Game.
“I’m going to make sure I know where I’m going first,” he said. “I’m just taking it slow right now, trying to have fun, not trying to get stressed with all the fans on Twitter and stuff like that.”
