Long County sheriff on prisons board

ATLANTA — Governor Sonny Perdue recently announced the following executive appointment to the Board of Corrections:
J. Cecil Nobles, 72, Ludowici, at-large representative (reappointment).
Nobles is the sheriff of Long County, Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association and the director of the Glennville-Ludowici Bank. He is a former Long County assistant principal and educator. Nobles earned an associate’s degree from Brewton-Parker College and a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Peggy, have three children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
