July 21: Cruelty to animals — Police checked out a call of three dogs locked in a vacant trailer. An animal control representative said she found two dogs tied up with rope and none of them had food or water. The property keyholder, who was out of town, gave police permission to enter the trailer and let the dogs out. An officer entered through an unlocked back door and the dogs were taken to a shelter.
Criminal trespass — A Hinesville woman complained her husband had locked her out of her residence. The husband opened the door for police and asked to file a report for the six holes his wife allegedly had put in the wall as a result of their argument. The man said he locked his wife out after she put the holes in the wall. The wife denied making the holes and said her husband did it because she refused to talk to him about why she was mad.
Police could find no physical evidence that supported either party’s claim. Both the husband and wife wanted to stay in the house so the responding officer told them to stay in separate rooms and not talk about the matter until they’d calmed down.
