POSTED: August 28, 2012 7:00 a.m.

Aug. 9: Obscene phone calls — A Hinesville police officer responded to a complaint by female employees of a local business on Allenhurst Road about obscene phone calls. The women said a man would ask obscene questions to female employees who answered the calls, but when the male employee in the office answered, the caller would hang up.

Aug. 10: Death investigation — A clerk at a local fitness center found a woman lying in the fetal position in the doorway of the facility’s sauna. The clerk said she was responding to reports by another woman that someone had been in the sauna for over two hours. The center’s aquatic coordinator and a volunteer said the woman was found unconscious with foam around her mouth. The employees attempted CPR until the officer arrived, who also attempted CPR. He was told the woman had been warned before by staff members not to go straight from the hot tub to the sauna. The officer noted the sauna was on its highest setting, 10.

Aug. 11: Civil matter — A South Carolina man filed a complaint that he had rented a room for two nights at a local motel. When he awoke the first morning, he said he was itching all over. He found tiny bugs covering the sheets, which he reported to the front desk. A housekeeper changed the sheets and mattress cover. The next morning, he said he had a red rash all over his back and went to Liberty Regional Medical Center.
