The Bradwell defense did a good job Aug. 31 against Liberty by recording eight tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception. The Tigers will have to execute again tonight to hold off the Savannah High Blue Jackets.

Bradwell Institute heads tonight to Savannah to take on the Savannah High Blue Jackets.
Kickoff is 7:30 in Memorial Stadium.
The Blue Jackets and the Tigers come into the game with 0-1 records. Savannah High was throttled by Georgia Atlantic Christian last week, 31-8.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are looking to recover after losing 13-7  to Liberty County High on Aug. 31 at Olvey Field.
Last week, the Tigers’ defense was led by Quonte Haggray. He had seven solo tackles, two assists, one tackle for loss and a sack.
Also for the Tigers, Jordan Portley had six solo tackles, three assists, one tackle for loss and a pass breakup. Shaun Maschino forced and recovered a fumble, while Jamey McCartney returned an interception 18 yards.
The Tigers had eight tackles for loss against the Panthers.
Bradwell defensive coordinator Jeff Miller said the Tigers will need focus to hold Savannah High.
“The main thing we are going to have to do is execute our defense. We executed the other night (against Liberty), except for two plays. We gave up a 33-yard run and a 23-yard run, and those two plays killed us,” Miller said. “(The Blue Jackets) have a real good quarterback who is shifty, so if we keep him contained or keep him in the pocket, we will do fine. They have real tall receiver and a good running back to go with him.”
He said the Tigers plan to substitute players early in the game so fatigue doesn’t become a factor later.
“We plan to line up, keep them in front of us and make tackles,” Miller added.
