First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s football team has another first tonight:  the program’s first road trip.
The Highlanders travel to North Augusta to take on Curtis Baptist. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
The Highlanders are 0-2 but put up a fight last week against St. Andrews.
FPCA was up, 28-27, before the Lions scored the go-ahead touchdown with 36 seconds left in a wild contest.
Highlander coach Andy Yanzetich is unsure what the first away game will be like.
“The first game on the road is going to be difficult because we are not used to a travel routine yet,” he said. “We have to get out of school early and take a long bus ride, and sometimes the guys tighten up, fall asleep or get tired, so we will just have to play it by ear.”
Yanzetich said the Crusaders (1-2) have about 17 players on their roster and have a good power I- formation offense.
“They don’t have a lot of players, so they try and run simple things,” the coach said. “They will run the power-I offense and a 3-5 defense that might give us some problems in our passing game.”
Yanzetich thinks the Crusaders are big and strong, but his players are a bit more athletic, which could possibly give them the first win in the young program’s history.
