Highlanders head to Eagle country

POSTED: September 21, 2012 9:46 a.m.

First Presbyterian Christian Academy will make the second road trip of its inaugural season when it goes to Stillmore to face the David Emanuel Eagles at 7:30 tonight.
FPCA is 0-3, but in the past two games, the Highlanders came close to claiming the program’s first win. Last week, the clock expired as the FPCA boys were tackled on the 2-yard line in a 26-19 loss at Curtis Baptist. The week before, FPCA held a 28-27 lead before St. Andrews scored the go-ahead touchdown with less than a minute remaining.
This week, the Highlanders go against another small roster of players also sitting at 0-3.
FPCA coach Andy Yanzetich said he continues to see remarkable improvement each week from his first-year team. He said the defense “did a great job” last week.
The one thing left for the Highlanders to accomplish is to get the first win.
“Our kids are hurt this week because they lost,” Yanzetich said earlier this week. “At the beginning of the year, it was more about, ‘Let’s not get hurt,’ or, ‘Let’s not get blown out every week.’ Now all of a sudden, they are upset because they want to win. The change has been 180 degrees going from just wanting to participate to knowing we want to win.”
