HPD blotter

POSTED: October 4, 2012 7:00 a.m.

Sept. 12: Suspicious act — A Hinesville woman called police about a Comcast bucket truck parked in front of her house. The driver reportedly told the woman he needed to check the box at the side of her house, which she allowed him to do. Then he said he needed to check inside her attic because there was an interference with the cable line. The woman said she did not feel comfortable letting the man in her attic and explained he’d have to wait until her husband came home. The man was persistent and told the woman she was messing up the cable in the neighborhood.

When she still refused to let him in, the man eventually left.

When the woman’s husband came home, they contacted Comcast and were told the company had no record of any workers having been recently dispatched to that neighborhood. Comcast advised the couple to file a police report.
