BRUNSWICK — Business jet manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. says it plans to add about 35 employees to its operations in Brunswick to keep up with an expanding workload finishing aircraft.

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream Product Support, says the move will increase the company's workforce in Brunswick by about 20 percent. The site currently has about 174 employees.

The company says the new jobs announced Wednesday will be filled in the next year.

While most of the assembly work for Gulfstream jets is done in nearby Savannah, Brunswick has an additional 55,000 square feet of hangar space dedicated to cabin interior design and installation as well as for servicing completed planes.

The company says Brunswick is seeing increased demand for completion work, which includes installing furniture, paneling, bathroom fixtures and entertainment systems.
