Hinesville Police Department blotter

Oct. 30: Disorderly conduct — An HPD officer was dispatched to a Hinesville residence regarding a threat made via text message. The complainant, a coach, said she had received a text message from the parent of one of her team members. The message sender reportedly called the recipient foul names and threatened to punch her in the face for not letting the sender’s daughter get a drink of water.

The message recipient responded that she was going to call the police about the threat. The recipient said she is fearful that the sender will follow through. She was advised on warrant procedures through the magistrate court.

Nov. 1

Found contraband — Members of the Hinesville Narcotics Unit conducted a search at Bradwell Institute and a dog smelled marijuana on a white BMW. The student to whom the vehicle is registered was notified and asked to open the vehicle for a search. Officers found a glass pipe and a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The student was turned over to school staff.

Nov. 2

Theft by taking — A Hinesville man went to the HPD and reported a gun had been stolen from his residence. He last saw the gun Oct. 30. The man said he had a small party Oct. 31. The gun was loaded with approximately six rounds. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence, and the man said he does have an alarm. No other items were taken.
