Fresh off their win against Bradwell Institute, the Lady Panthers of Liberty County High School had to try and ward off a strong attack from Jenkins on Saturday in Savannah.
Despite double-digit scoring from Bryonna Graham, Brianna Reece and Emone Fisher, the Lady Warriors nabbed more rebounds to key their 63-55 win.
Graham finished the game with 18 points, Reece chipped in 12 and Fisher added 10.
Liberty entered the week with a 1-2 record.
The Liberty boys’ team also played Jenkins; scores were not available, and a request for stats was not returned in time for press.
The Bradwell boys’ basketball team fell to the Brunswick Pirates, 54-44, Saturday in Brunswick to put the Tigers’ record at 2-2 entering this week’s action.
The Lady Tigers, who are off to a sluggish start, fell to 0-4 after losing, 49-32, to the Lady Pirates.
In Ludowici, Faith Baptist Christian Academy’s boys’ team is 2-1. The Crusaders opened the season Nov. 27 with an 87-80 loss to Bible Baptist in Savannah.
The Crusaders rebounded for two wins last weekend in the Breaks Interstate Park Tournament in Virginia.
FBCA topped Wesley Christian, 77-65, on Nov. 30, and Oak Hill, 73-59, on Saturday.
This week, Liberty was scheduled to host Richmond Hill on Tuesday and will host Brunswick on Friday starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Tigers played Beach High on Tuesday and will be at Glynn Academy at 6 p.m. Friday.
Faith Baptist was set to play Bible Christian School on Tuesday in Valdosta and will host Coastal Home School of Pembroke on Friday.
