A Hinesville man received minor injuries when he crashed his motorcycle into a culvert retaining wall Monday afternoon.
Authorities say two men called in the accident when they heard a boom outside of their home. When they went outside they found a friend, William Nelson, 29, had crashed his motorcycle into a brick retaining wall after his bike went into the ditch.
Nelson was taken by Liberty Regional EMS for medical evaluation after complaining of pain in his left arm. One of the witnesses, Matthew McKnight, who lives on Georgia Avenue, said his friend lived on nearby Elizabeth Street. Nelson and McKnight are reportedly both contract security guard with the Department of Defense at Fort Stewart.
Details of how the accident occurred where unavailable, as the only person who knew what happened was Nelson. Sgt. Mike Moody with the Hinesville Police Traffic Accident Investigation Unit said they would question Nelson soon.
