Dec. 1: Theft of services — The manager of the Waffle King on E.G. Miles Parkway reported three customers — two males and one female — who ordered then ate their meals but left without paying. The total price for the three meals was $37.59.

Dec. 3

Sexual battery, unruly juvenile — An HPD officer responded to a call from a Bacon Road resident that her daughter had been sexually assaulted on the school bus by a male student. The girl told the officer the young man had repeatedly grabbed her breasts and bottom each afternoon on the bus. The boy’s mother told the officer her son had been suspended from school for “touching girls,” although he claimed he had not touched the girl accusing him. The Department of Juvenile Justice recommended releasing the boy to his mother’s custody.

Dec. 4

Counterfeiting — Three men tried to pay for their meal at the Wendy’s drive-through window with a $100 counterfeit bill. The window attendant said two males in their 20s with tattoos on both arms were in the front seat of a late model Ford Crown Victoria, and one male in his 20s with a tattoo on his left arm was in the back seat. As she inspected the suspicious bill, she said one male kept asking her questions, trying to distract her. When she reported to her manager, the car left the scene. The counterfeit bill was stored in the evidence locker.

Burglary, first degree — A Fort Stewart soldier residing at a residence on Gen. Screven Way told HPD officers he left for physical training around 5:50 a.m. then returned around 7:50 a.m. When he came home he found his front door wide open and nearly $6,000 worth of televisions and electronic devices stolen. The investigating officer noted pry marks on the front door and found a Mossy Oak backpack containing a screwdriver that did not belong to the victim. Some of the victim’s clothes were found in a trash dumpster nearby.
