Georgia Southern University’s Museum is open to the public again after being closed since August for the installation of new windows.

“From Protest to Peace: Northern Irish Murals by the Bogside Artists,” a new exhibit to the museum, will be on display through Jan. 20. The exhibit’s large murals capture the violence and civil rights protests that occurred in Northern Ireland.

The museum also will host a presentation connected to the Irish murals. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, Georgia College and State University professor Valerie Aranda will present “The Writings on the Wall: The Role of Political and Cultural Street Murals across the Globe.”

In addition, the museum offers a variety of permanent displays including artifacts from the Civil War discovered at the Camp Lawton POW camp and the 78-million-year-old Mosasaur fossil skeleton.
