It was a tough year for former Bradwell Institute and Georgia Tech football player Gary Guyton.
After four seasons with the New England Patriots, Guyton was released as a free agent this season and began to set up shop with the Miami Dolphins.
Guyton signed a one year contract with the Dolphins on April 13, but he was not selected to the final 53-man roster.
On Nov. 6, Guyton was signed to the Dallas Cowboys and was scheduled to start against the Philadelphia Eagles. But three days later — on the evening before the game — Guyton was released.
On Dec. 12, the San Diego Charges picked up Guyton, and he was able to suit up for their Dec. 16 game against the Carolina Panthers.
While Guyton made one tackle in the game, he was inactive for the remainder of the season.
While with New England, the former Bradwell Tiger recorded 229 tackles, five sacks, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions, including a 59-yard touchdown return. He played in 60 NFL games and made 32 starts in the regular season and a pair in the postseason for the
Patriots.
