Involve your church in “Souper Bowl” activities to help feed the needy

Letter to the editor

POSTED: January 14, 2013 6:00 p.m.

Editor, Feb. 3, 2013, is Super Bowl Sunday — a time of parties and celebrations. It is almost a national holiday.

I encourage all pastors and churches in Liberty County to visit www.souperbowl.org or tacklehunger.org to see how you can involve your church — especially the youth — in “Souper Bowl” activities to help in the fight against hunger.

“Souper Bowl” activities allow churches to collect money or food items to be given to local organizations that are involved in feeding the hungry. We would be honored if you chose Manna House, but the choice is yours.

Please give this your consideration. Remember the words of our Lord: “I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink.”

Thank you.

— Charles R. Rogers, president
Manna House board of directors
