McIntosh County sweeps Liberty

One week after knocking down McIntosh County Academy by 12 points at home, the Liberty County boys’ basketball team fell to the Buccaneers, 54-45, on Saturday in Darien.
The Panther boys are 7-10 overall and 1-1 in Region 3A-AAAA.
The Lady Panthers lost, 72-53, in their second matchup against MCA. Last week, Liberty lost, 76-55, at home to the Lady Bucs. The Lady Panthers are 2-8 overall and 0-2 in region play.
On Friday, the Panthers take on Wayne County in Jesup. The girls tip off first at 6:30 p.m.

FPCA
The First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys lost to Greater Augusta, 57-47, on Saturday in Augusta in a Region 2-AA contest. But the Highlanders bounced back Monday by beating Coastal Home School, 83-38, in Pembroke in a non-region contest.  
The Highlanders are 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the region, according to GISAstats.com. The Highlanders host Bethesda at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Bradwell
Looking for a challenge outside the area, the BI Lady Tigers were in Gainesville, Fla., on Saturday, where P.K. Yonge eked out a 50-46 win.
The Lady Tigers are still 5-1 in Region 3B-AAAAA and were set to play Effingham County on Tuesday and host Glynn Academy on Friday for back-to-back region games. The girls are 5-11 overall.
The Tiger boys didn’t play during the weekend, taking a breather after beating Groves, 54-50, on Friday at home.
The Tigers were scheduled to play Effingham County on Tuesday; results weren’t available at press time.
Bradwell hosts Glynn Academy on Friday. The girls tip off at 6:30 p.m., with the boy’s game to follow.
