The National Junior College Athletic Association named former First Presbyterian Christian Academy basketball player Jordan Johnson the men’s basketball player of the week for Jan. 21-27.
Johnson, who currently plays at East Georgia College in Swainsboro, had a career-high 38 points Jan. 23 against Chattahoochee Tech at home.
He hit 12-of-21 shots from the field and drained eight 3-pointers in EGC’s 102-92 victory. Johnson spread the ball around with five assists and pulled down six rebounds. Defensively, Johnson picked away three steals.
Johnson’s fine play continued last week.
He scored 16 points to go with seven assists, three steals and two rebounds in EGC’s 93-50 win against Albany Tech on Jan. 30 at home.
The Bobcats are ranked No. 13 in the NJCAA Division I ranking system and have an 18-1 overall record and an 11-0 in the GCAA conference.
EGC will have a rematch against Chattahoochee Tech at 4:30 p.m. today in Marietta.
