Company soccer league

Company Level Soccer League play begins March 4 with games at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Companies can prove they are the best on Fort Stewart. Submit a memo to the Bennett's Sports Office before Friday or call the Sports Office at 767-8238.

 

Shamrock Family Fun Run

Join fellow runners or just walk the 5K or 1.5-mile course along North Perimeter Road in Hunter’s Shamrock Family Fun Run at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The first 100 participants (12 or older) who sign up and complete the run on Stephen Douglas/Perimeter road will get free T-shirts. Medals will be awarded to kids younger than 12. Late registration can be completed at 9:30 a.m. at the starting point.

A clock will show runners times. For more information, call 315-5078.

 

Long range shooting

Soldiers, retirees, Army civilians and guests can sight-in large caliber weapons from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 3 at Red Cloud Range Complex- Echo (off Highway 119). The cost is $10 per two-hour block/person.

No pistols or shotguns allowed. Targets will be at 100 to 1,000 meters. For more information, call 435-8061 or 767-4316.

 

BOGO golf range balls

A range ball special  can help you get ready for the upcoming season every Monday and Tuesday from March 4-26 at Hunter Golf Club.

Hunter GC’s Golf Scramble

The Hunter Garrison Commander's 4-person Golf Scramble will begin at 1 p.m. March 8 at Hunter Golf Club. Register your team by March 6. The $40 per person cost includes greens and cart fees, range balls and lunch.

Speedball tournament

A Spring Speedball Tournament at Fort Stewart’s Holbrook Recreation Area Shooting Sports Facility will be from 5-8 p.m. March 7 and March 21.

The five-verses-five, round robin tournament is for those who are 18 and older. Teams will be comprised of 5-7 members and prizes will be awarded.

Entry costs $100 per team/per event.

Register by March 7 at Stewart Shooting Sports Office, Pass and Permit or Outdoor Equipment Rental.

The show will be at Hunter Club from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. March 12, and again the same times following day at Club Stewart.

Education forum at Hunter

Parents, FRG leaders and school officials will get together to talk about issues and solutions for military-connected students during a Hunter Education Forum from 5:30-7 p.m. March 14 at Pulaski Elementary School.

Specialty programs, STEM Academy, middle school rezoning and charter schools in Savannah will be discussed.

The Pulaski Elementary gate on post will be open for the forum.

Stewart GC’s Golf Scramble

The Fort Stewart Garrison Commander's 4-person Golf Scramble will begin at 1 p.m. March 22 at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Register a team by March 20.

Col. Kevin F. Gregory invites active duty, retirees, Army civilians and guests to play.

Play is limited to the first 25 four-person teams. The cost is $35 per soldier, retiree, Army civilian and Taylors Creek or Hunter Club member; and $45 per civilian guest.

Bass tournament

If you love bass fishing, here’s a chance to toss a line and take home a prize of up to $100.

The Canoochee River Bass Tournament will be from 6:30 a.m.-noon March 23. The catch-and-release, five-fish limit tourney will be on at Training Area Charlie 18, Landing 1B on Stewart. Every registered participant will receive a T-shirt.

The tournament is open to Stewart/Hunter fishing pass and permit holders only and will be limited to the first 25 boats registered. Boat motors allowed. Scores determined by total weight.

Registration through March 15 costs $20 for military ID cardholders and $35 for civilian community. Add $5 from March 16-22 and $10 from 5:30-7 a.m. at the tournament.

Easter egg hunts

March 23 will be special for Stewart/Hunter kids and parents.

That’s when Stewart and Hunter will have the annual Easter egg hunts and family fun days. Both run from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The Stewart event will be at the CYSS Sports Field. Hunter's will be at Squires Sports Complex. There’s no charge.

There will be prizes hidden in some eggs, along with face-painting, games and inflatables. Bring your cameras.

Easter brunch

Bring your family and friends to Club Stewart for the Easter Brunch 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. March 31.

Menu features omelet bar and breakfast items, plus a carving station with favorites. Advance ticket cost $3 less for adults and $1 for children from at-the-door prices of  $17.95 for adults and $7.45 for children (ages 5-10) and are available at club information counters. Children 4 and under eat free.

Children’s storytime

Military Child Education Coalition staff present programs for children up to age 12 every Tuesday during March at 9:30 a.m. at George P. Hays Library on Fort Stewart. Kids hear stories and enjoy crafts. There’s no charge. For more information, call 767-2828.
