Author and motivational speaker Stephen Peters recently spoke to students at Waldo Pafford Elementary about the importance of dreaming big and thinking about the future.
His interactive presentation included excerpts from the book, “C is for College” by Jamie Campisano and active participation from students in the second through fifth grades.
“What does it mean when I say pay now and play later?” Peters said.
“You can work hard and get a good education now and play after you have your degree,” fourth-grader Christian Oxendine responded.
“Education is everything,” Peters said.
He encouraged students to start thinking about and planning to attend college.
Peters, who has been in education for more than 32 years, is the CEO and president of The Peters Group, a national education-consulting company.
