"Olympus has Fallen" has about all the blow-'em-up, shoot-'em-up that you could ask of a movie that also presents a plot.

Are you ready for some action? Terror takes the White House in the new thriller, “Olympus Has Fallen,” which is in theaters. Is the film worth the price of admission?
This is the newest film from American director Antione Fuqua, who also made “Training Day” and “Shooter.”  In “Olympus Has Fallen,” U.S. President Ben Asher (Aaron Eckhart) is in the White House when a North Korean guerrilla force unleashes a well-strategized series of attacks that result in the hostile takeover of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., codenamed Olympus.
In the bunker with the president, terrorist leader Kang (Rick Yune) has access to Cerberus, a computer system that could detonate every nuclear weapon in the nation, making the U.S. no more than a charred memory. As you might guess, one man stands in his way. He is Mike Banning (Gerard Butler).
Believe it or not, a similarly themed film, “White House Down” with Channing Tatum as the hero and Jamie Foxx as the president, will debut this June. You would think Americans were unhappy with Washington or something. Go figure.
If you’re looking for a good action film, though, “Olympus Has Fallen” definitely is that. It’s nothing new, exactly; our hero could have just as easily been  John McClane from “Die Hard.”
In fact, there was a bumpy start to the film as the opening sequence held the most clichés for this reviewer, but it’s still worth watching for good performances and sheer spectacle. It isn’t completely brainless, either.
Did I mention that Morgan Freeman plays the speaker of the house? If it’s got Freeman in it, it must be good, right? I’d be remiss not to also mention Melissa Leo as the secretary of defense; now there’s a tough chick.
I’m a fan!
