Bradwell split a pair of road games in the first two contests of a busy week.
The Tigers, who are 6-14 overall and 3-7 in Region 3-AAAAA, will host region opponent Jenkins High at 6 p.m. today.
On Monday, the Tigers battled but lost as the Richmond Hill Wildcats squeezed out a 6-5 win. On Wednesday, the Tigers needed just three innings to thump Groves, 18-0.
Bradwell had something to prove to Richmond Hill after being blown out by the Wildcats earlier this season.
“They run-ruled us last time, and I think our kids told themselves that we are not going to let that happen again,” Tiger baseball coach Rhett Hellgren said. “We had and showed some real fight in this game.”
The game was a battle from the first pitch. The Tiger batters were disciplined enough to draw six walks. Sage Sammons had two hits, while  Ryan Desbiens, Chris Bell, Stephen Felton and James Moon chipped in one hit apiece.
The Tigers held a 5-4 lead until the sixth inning, when the Wildcats scored and later executed a squeeze play to get the lead and win.
Tiger Kyle Lannom pitched 4 1/3 innings, and James Moon finished for Bradwell.
Wednesday was a different story as the Tigers got a big win in Garden City.
JaQuonte Haggray had a double and a single with three RBIs. Sage Sammons had two singles, and Lannom and Ryan Desbiens each had a hit
BI pitcher DaBrent Nobles threw three hitless innings for the win.
“Glad to get a win after some close losses,” Hellgren said. “The team is definitely getting better, and I am very proud of them.”
