Hinesville saxophonist Bernard Rose will commemorate the release of his second studio album next month, but he also hopes his music will help him pay it forward.
The album, “Faith, Inspiration, & Praise Vol. 1,” will be available June 1, the same day he holds a benefit and release concert to raise funds for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
The concert is from 5-7:30 p.m. at Connection Church on Patriots Trail. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.
Rose and fellow musicians will perform, and all donations at the concert will support the Mission Possible DR2K13 Team ministry’s trip to San Pedro De Macoris. The team’s goal is $1,500 to help with supplies.
“Of course you know, you always hope your projects are a personal benefit, but I’m also going to be pouring a whole lot into the mission’s effort,” Rose said, explaining he also will be on the trip.
Several local artists collaborated on the album, with Antone Green and Jo Richardson on vocals, Dave Guy playing bass, Mitch Holmes on guitar, 15-year-old Phillip Williams as drummer and keyboardist Travis Winbush.
The album will be available at Uncommon Grounds coffee shop, Top’s Christian Book Store, WGML Radio Station, Good 2 Go Jamaican Restaurant, Farmer’s Natural Foods and online at http://www.satinsax.com/.
For more information or to purchase event tickets, call Rose at 912-269-1013.
