Faith Baptist Christian Academy’s Brittany Hall on Thursday signed a letter of intent to play softball and volleyball for Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon.
“First, I want to thank God, and I also want to thank Mr. Sellars and J.J. Frazier, who has become a mentor for me and a role model,” Hall said.
She will be joining teams that went 17-10 on the softball diamond and 7-16 on the volleyball court this season.
Though the volleyball team had a losing record, it has a long history of success, making the playoffs 11 of the past 14 years.
This season, Hall helped lead the Lady Crusaders to a 10-7 record and a trip to the playoffs. Though FBCA lost in the playoffs to Appling Christian Academy, Hall went 8 for 10 at the plate in that series, hitting two home runs and driving in eight runs.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Brittany Hall into the family at BPC. We feel that Brittany has the skills to fit in as both a softball and volleyball player… (she) is gifted with good athleticism (and) also exhibits good character.  We are very pleased to have Hall in both the volleyball and softball programs at BPC,” BPC head coach Jason Bryant, who wasn’t able to attend the signing, said in an email. Bryant coaches both softball and volleyball at BPC.
Another person who believes Hall will help the Barons right away is her high-school head softball coach, Robert Greene.
“She is a strong player who can play any position on the field. She has a great character and attitude and demonstrates good sportsmanship. She’ll be a great asset to Brewton-Parker,” he said.
According to FBCA coach Jonathon Morgan, Hall can fire up her team when she needs to.
“She is a hard worker and a leader. When her team gets down and they need a spark, she’ll do what she has to do to get them motivated,” he said.
