I’m so tired of these politicians about the debt and thinking about their grandkids 10 to 20 years from now. What about the grandkids and great-grandkids now? You’re taking away all the nutrition from them, taking away from pre-K, kindergarten, senior citizens’ services, Meals on Wheels. What about taking care of all of these people now? Who knows where we’re going to be in 10 to 20 years?

I’m calling in reference to the call about the girl who should go on with her life because of her husband leaving her for someone else. I just want to add this: You look so much better, and you’ve got the best personality. I don’t understand why he went and gave you up for something like what he gave you up for. You’ve got everything and you’re just a great person. There are guys around here that would love to be with you — why waste your time on someone that isn’t going to treat you right?

For the past three years, I’ve left work and walked across the bank parking lot. I’ve enjoyed being greeted by Kennedy Farms as I entered the farmer’s market. I was disappointed that they were not in their usual corner. I did find them on down and got my fresh strawberries.

Yes, I recently attended a beauty pageant at Smiley Elementary School in Long County. And I don’t know, but the judges were from their own county and Tattnall County. It seems to me if you are having a beauty pageant, you would have judges that do not have any connection to the schools or the students that are in the pageant. Also, there was so much whooping and hollering, it sounded like a rodeo instead of a beauty pageant. I think people should conduct themselves more professionally. They are not teaching their children respect the way they were whooping and hollering. Older people had to hold their ears, it was so loud.
