American Consultants Rx President Charles Myrick recently  announced the re-release of the American Consultants Rx community service project, which consists of millions of free discount-prescription cards being donated to thousands of nonprofits, hospitals, schools and churches in an effort to help the uninsured, underinsured and seniors deal with the high cost of prescription drugs.
The Hinesville Housing Authority is one such entity that received an initial donation of free prescription cards. The American Consultants Rx discount-prescription cards will be given to anyone who needs help curbing the cost of prescription drugs.
The cards, which do not expire, will offer discounts of up to 40 percent on name-brand drugs and up to 60 percent off generic drugs. They also possess no eligibility requirements, and there are no forms to fill out.
One card is good for a whole family. The cards are good at more than 50,000 stores, including Walmart, Kroger, Kmart, Walgreens, Eckerd’s and many more.
Since the ACRX discount-prescription card program was created in 2004 in Atlanta, more than 25 million discount-prescription cards have been donated to more than 40,000 organizations across the country.
Cards can be requested for individuals and organizations online at www.acrxcards.org; by mailing a request to ACRX, P.O. Box 161336, Atlanta, GA 30321; faxing a written request to 404-305-9539; or by calling the office at 404-767-1072.
