Kroger raises $300,000 for children's charity

POSTED: June 29, 2013 2:30 p.m.

ATLANTA — Kroger recently announced that customers and associates in its Atlanta Division donated close to $300,000 during a three-week fundraiser to benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
From May 19-June 8, customers purchased $1 hot-air balloon icons, also known to many as “Miracle Balloons,” to fund medical care and outreach programs at Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in their local communities.
“Every year Kroger customers go above and beyond with their charitable contributions,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “We are incredibly grateful for their support as they continue to make a difference in the lives of children in our communities.”
Children’s Miracle Network  is a nonprofit organization that raises money for more than 170 hospitals.
