Many young ladies in and around Long County celebrated the Fourth of July by participating in the Miss Independence Day Pageant.
Ciara Wine was crowned Miss Independence. Chezney Cassell won the overall title in the children’s category and also snagged the people’s choice award. In the individual divisions, Dixie Bridges won the toddler miss crown; Trinity Boutwell was the tiny miss queen; Taylor Works was the junior miss winner; Karena Espey won the miss division; and Alexis Snelling was the Ms. queen. The pageant was held in the Long County High School cafeteria.
“I just want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to support the KIDZ-Etcetera Miss Independence Day Pageant,” pageant organizer Kelli Mock said.
KIDZ-Etcetera is a local nonprofit group that organizes pageants for local contestants. Proceeds from the events fund scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the area.
