United Military Care hosted a ribbon cutting and open house Wednesday at 400 N. Main St. in Hinesville.
The event was held in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and attended by family, volunteers, friends and chamber members and staff.
United Military Care assists and honors service members and military families by providing emergency assistance, such as food and clothing, to families in need. There also are programs for financial management, education and career placement in order to support and assist with life changes.
“We are proud to be the only full-service military-support organization in the area,” United Military Care Vice President Christina Anthony said. “We are here to support the military community, and we hope that we will receive support so that we can continue to serve.”
Anthony — a military “brat,” veteran and military spouse — feels she understands all aspects of the needs of military members and their families. United Military Care is open to all ranks, veterans and branches of service.
“We’re here to provide to veterans who never received appreciation for their service and act as a second family for military spouses and single soldiers,” she said. “It’s important to empower people and honor soldiers.”
United Military Care is open 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. For more information, call 877-1340 or go to www.facebook.com/UnitedMilitaryCare.
