SAVANNAH — Savannah Technical College’s dental-hygiene program announced its 2013 graduating cohort of 16 students passed both the Central Regional Dental Testing Service practical licensing examination and the American Dental Association National Board dental hygiene examination late in the 2013 spring semester.
Both exams must be passed in order for graduates to apply for dental hygiene licensure in the state(s) in which they intend to practice. This is the first cohort to both start and finish the program at Savannah Tech.
The Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene is a 82-credit-hour program. Students provide clinical patient care as a component of their curriculum requirements.
Dr. Susan Edenfield said she is proud of the program’s record of success, noting that most students are offered employment positions pending successful completion of two credentialing examinations and licensure.
