Sara Swida and Kathy Poole of Keep Liberty Beautiful were the special guests at the June Goldenheirs meeting.
Swida explained that Keep Liberty Beautiful is a community education and volunteer-action organization focused on litter prevention and eradication, waste reduction and recycling and community improvement. She encouraged people to plant trees as much as possible and talked about the recycling bins around the city that have easy access for the Liberty County people’s benefit.
In celebration of Keep Liberty Beautiful’s 30th birthday, Liberty Countians are being asked to create 30 community gardens, which provide recreation, exercise, education, food and beauty.
“It is important for our community to look clean and attractive. Each of us is responsible for our area,” Swida said.
