Party, open house for Ford's birthday

POSTED: July 25, 2013 9:30 p.m.

The Richmond Hill Historical Society and the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau will celebrate Henry Ford’s life on the 150th anniversary of his birth with a party and open house from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Hill Museum.
Ford made an impact not only on America, but also on the little town of Ways Station, better known now as Richmond Hill, and his impact is still being felt today. Stop by for some birthday cake and refreshments, as well as some Richmond Hill trivia contests with prizes and giveaways.
In addition, Chris Sheppard, executive director for the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be on hand to demonstrate the Coastal Bryan Heritage Trail Driving Tour App.
The free app is an interactive, GPS-enabled map and audio tour that connects the more than 40 historic markers in south Bryan County and gives participants the “rest of the story” as well as access to historic photos of the area. Sites on the trail include antebellum and Civil War sites, as well as landmarks that Henry Ford either built or restored during his residency here.
