Courier Friends to Follow

POSTED: August 20, 2013 8:30 p.m.

In 1 Corinthians 11, the Apostle Paul issued a brave request. He stated, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
He could have said, “Follow my decision to follow Christ,” but he said, “Follow my example.” This should be convincing to anyone professing to be a Christian.
We should live such a life to where we also could make this request. This doesn’t mean we are perfect, but it does mean that we can live such a transformed life that we are worthy of being followed.
We need to remember that each of us has others watching us, and there are many who desire someone to lead so that they can follow. Children and grandchildren look up to their parents and grandparents as role models, as people they emulate.
Some have lived lives where they say, “Do what I say, not what I do.” Kids are not stupid, but they are wired to follow examples.
If you have failed in this area, be honest and confess to God and those you have failed, and then ask the heavenly father to help and empower you to start living a life worth following.
