Savannah ENT wins achievement award

Dr. Fred L. Daniel has won the 2013 Lester Brown Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.

ENT Associates of Savannah, an ear, nose and throat practice with offices throughout coastal Georgia, recently announced that Dr. Fred L. Daniel has won the 2013 Lester Brown Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.
The GSO/HNS, an association designed to improve patient care through education, research and by empowering otolaryngologists to achieve the highest possible standards of ability and integrity, presents the Lester Brown Lifetime Achievement Award to one physician each year at its annual summer meeting. Winners are nominated by their peers and must have a minimum of 20 years of practice experience and have made an outstanding contribution to otolaryngology/head and neck surgery in Georgia.
 “This is a well-deserved, outstanding achievement for Dr. Daniel,” said Dr. Michael Zoller, senior partner at ENT Associates of Savannah. “His commitment to excellence and patient advocacy is unparalleled. We are honored to work alongside such an exceptional medical practitioner.”
A clinical assistant professor at the Medical College of Georgia, Daniel also is the recipient of the Dr. John B. Rabun Community Service Award from the Georgia Medical Society in 2005 and the Jack A. Raines, M.D., Humanitarian Award for Outstanding Humanitarian Service from the Medical Association of Georgia in 2006.
In 1999, be became a surgeon for the Faith in Practice Medical Mission to Guatemala and has volunteered for Kairos Prison Ministries since 2000.
Prior to joining ENT Associates of Savannah in 1984, Daniel graduated from the University of North Carolina and the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his training in surgery at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah and in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Michigan. He is the past president of the Georgia Medical Society and served as secretary in 2011 and 2012.
