July 20: Entering auto — An officer was dispatched to Yellow Cab on West Memorial Drive after an employee witnessed a man open the door of his taxi cab and take money. The complainant chased down the man, which resulted in a fight in front of Stewart Pines Apartments. The offender denied stealing any money from the taxi, but the officer later found $91 in his possession that belonged to the complainant.

July 22
Burglary, forced entry, residence — Two officers responded to an alarm going off at the Subway on Veterans Parkway.
Both officers noticed the front and back doors open. The front door appeared forced open. The alarm company told the officers that the alarm was triggered at 4 a.m. The key holder of the store reported $736 missing.
Video footage showed three suspects forcing open the front door with a crowbar, then walking to the office and cash register.
A footprint was found on the counter.

Aug. 2
Burglary, forced entry, residence — A Strickland Road resident at Horseshoe Bend MHP reported a break-in at his home that he said occurred between Aug. 2 and 4. When he returned home Aug. 4, he said he found the deadbolt on the front door unlocked, though he had locked it when he left Aug. 2.
A window in a back bedroom was found open and the locking mechanism was found on the floor. The window screen had also been removed. Items missing included several prescription medications and numerous video games. Neighbors reported seeing a man known to live on Strickland Road in the area.

Aug. 4
Burglary, forced entry, residential — A Cassidy Lane resident told HPD investigators he left his home for about three hours, from 9 a.m.-noon on Aug. 4.  When he returned home, he said he found broken glass on the floor. Items taken included a 9mm Ruger pistol valued at $378 and an Inspirion laptop computer valued at $500.
