Tigers give new coach first win

Liberty beats Appling

POSTED: September 6, 2013 11:21 p.m.

It was the best birthday gift a coach could wish for. First year Bradwell Institute football coach Adam Carter became a little emotional after his Tiger team earned him a 34-28 win over Savannah High on Olvey Field. With his mother in the audience, visiting from Dallas, Ga., the new head coach thanked his team and told them better things are yet to come.

Over at Donell Woods Stadium the Liberty County Panthers held Appling County winning 19-16 in a close and heated battle.

In Savannah First Presbyterian Christian Academy once again proved playing with heart is all that is needed on the field. The 12 man two-way players fought hard and gave St. Andrews a challenge. But the Lions still pulled away with a 36-26 win over the Highlanders.
