First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s D’Angelo Streeter (1) gained positive yards before being tackled by Curtis Baptist in last Friday’s 58-8 loss at home. FPCA hosts 0-3 David Emmanuel at 7:30 tonight.

Coming off its biggest loss of the season, the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders’ football team is ready to take the home field again and finally claim a victory when it hosts David Emmanuel at 7:30 tonight at Long Bell Stadium.
Both teams are 0-3 and the Highlanders are looking for the first win of their program.
First-year head coach Jamie Sharp III said his players had a rough time with last week’s 58-8 thumping by Curtis Baptist, but added the 13-player, iron-man team continues to display fortitude. “If I could say there were good spots from last week I would have to say that we had players go down and get injured, but they never gave up and they fought every step of the way,” Sharp said.
The coach added the boys are staying relatively healthy.
“We are staying healthy enough … we have the small injuries here and there, but we are taking those day by day and see who is ready for Friday night,” Sharp said.
The Highlanders are averaging 16.3 points per game, a bit better than the Eagles’ 9.3, and the coach said the team is stripping everything down to review the basics of blocking and tackling.
“You can’t stop people from scoring if you can’t tackle, and you can’t score if you can’t block,” he said.
