Sept. 6: Theft by taking — An officer was called to a West Oglethorpe Highway restaurant, where a waitress claimed some customers left without paying their full bill. Another employee at the restaurant said she was familiar with the suspects who were involved in the incident. She said the suspects work at a local gentleman’s club, but she did not know their names. The waitress was able to provide a license-plate number to the officer. The vehicle was registered to a man in Manchester, Ga. The officer said he would attempt to make contact with one of the suspects.

Sept. 8
Entering auto — A woman claimed someone had taken her purse out of her vehicle while she was parked at the Stafford Park track at 8 a.m. The woman, who said her purse was on the passenger-side seat, was certain that she had locked her car before going to walk around the track. The responding officer didn’t note any evidence of forced entry. He helped the complainant list her purse and additional missing items on a property sheet. The woman was advised of follow-up procedures.

Sept. 9
Criminal trespass — An Elm Street man said he noticed scratch marks on the passenger side and the rear of his 1998 Chevy Suburban at 10 a.m. He said the SUV was fine when he parked it at 3 p.m. the day before. The complainant told the officer he suspects his “baby mama” caused the damage because he had been involved in a verbal dispute with her recently over their children, and she made a comment about damaging his vehicle. The complainant was given a case number and advised on how to obtain a copy of the report.
