Does God still answer our prayers?

In 1 John 5:14-15, we read, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: That if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.”
In other words, we as Christians can ask anything from God that is in his will for us, and he will hear and answer our prayers.
We at New Beginnings have experienced this firsthand. About a year ago, we as a congregation voted to make some changes through a special transformation weekend, and the most pressing need was to hire a part-time worship or music director. We had been praying for quite a while, even before this weekend, for this to become a reality.
To show you how God works, on the day of the vote a man from the community came in, feeling God impressing on him to help us with our music ministry. He knew nothing about what was going on with our transformational weekend and this being our main concern. The Lord has worked this out, and he is over our music programs. God has almost doubled our congregation because of this act of obedience on the parts of him and our congregation.
Also as part of this special weekend, we would hire a part-time administrative assistant. We were praying and searching, but had little response. I went to our local ministerial meeting and was taking prayer requests, planning at the end to request prayer for our need. Right before the words came out of my mouth, another minister who had just moved into our area spoke up with the following request: “Pray that my wife will be able to find a part-time administrative assistant job.”
My mouth fell open in amazement at how our great God orchestrated all this. To make a long story short, she began her work in the office this week. Isn’t our Lord good?
I could tell you a lot more stories about how God has miraculously answered prayer on our behalf since we became a church. Now we are looking into the future about God sending to us a person who will lead our children’s ministry and youth ministry. I want to encourage you that God can and will answer your prayers. If you have committed your life to him and you ask according to his will, he will be faithful to you.
Remember that those who are eligible for a miracle are those who have problems.
