A man suspected of stabbing a Hinesville woman to death Tuesday night was captured Thursday in Bulloch County.

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Department placed Richard Geiger, 54, of Hinesville into the Hinesville Police Department's custody in the afternoon after arresting him in Brooklet in the morning.
Geiger is accused of stabbing his 50-year-old girlfriend, Rosie L. Smith, and stuffing her body in a hallway closet in her Raintree Apartment Complex home following a domestic dispute.
He is scheduled for his first court appearance Friday morning.

Wednesday's story

A 50-year-old Hinesville woman was found stabbed to death in the closet of her Raintree Apartment Complex home Tuesday night.
Investigators with the Hinesville Police Department have not released the woman's name, but said her husband discovered her body just after 8 p.m.
According to HPD Chief of Detectives Maj. Thomas Cribbs, there was no sign of a struggle inside the apartment.
Neighbors reportedly saw a man fleeing the building sometime before the woman's body was found.
Further details surrounding the case were not immediately available, but investigators expect to have an update in the case Wednesday afternoon. Cribbs reportedly was at the GBI crime lab in Savannah Wednesday morning.
