A Walthourville man was arrested for his alleged involvement in a stabbing that happened Friday in Long County.
According to Long County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tom Sollosi,  Johnnie Winn, 44, got into an altercation at 6:40 p.m. with a second man at a residence on Izzard Road. Sollosi said Winn allegedly stabbed the other man in the chest with a knife, puncturing his lung. The victim was treated by EMS personnel at the scene and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Sollosi said Izzard was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated assault. He was given a cash bond of $25,000, but on Tuesday afternoon, he had not posted it.
Sollosi said that the circumstances of the altercation still are uncertain and the investigation is ongoing. The victim’s name hasn’t been released, but he was in good condition Tuesday, according to MHUMC spokesman Michael Notrica.
