Four join Navy

Military on the move

Johnathan J. S. Esterbrook, Sharod T. Johnson, Thadious J. Webber and Jamell J. Wynn recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the delayed-entry program at Navy Recruiting District in Jacksonville, Fla.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Esterbrook, a 2013 graduate of Liberty County High School, is the son of Rosario A. P. and Robert S. Esterbrook of Fort Stewart
Johnson, the son of Shanna M. and Teddy C. Chambers of Hinesville, is a 2013 graduate of Bradwell Institute.
Webber, the son of Holly M. Gouker of Ludowici, is a 2013 graduate of Long County High School.
Wynn, son of Lynnette and Frank Wynn of Riceboro, is a 2007 graduate of McIntosh County Academy High School in Darien.
The enlistees will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy’s Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill.

Newsam graduates from basic training
Army Pfc. Malike A. Newsam graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
Newsam is a 2012 graduate of Liberty County High School and the nephew of William Bailey of Hinesville.
