The Liberty County YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, launched its annual campaign this month to ensure that everyone in Liberty County has access to community programs and resources that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The launch is a part of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s association-wide annual campaign kickoff, which garners support for the six Coastal Georgia counties it serves.
Every day, the YMCA supports people and neighborhoods by addressing community issues, such as school readiness, chronic diseases and food insecurity.
“Throughout Coastal Georgia, countless people know the Y. But there’s so much more to our Y than one might think,” said Rachel Meuser Bowman, chief advancement officer of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. “The Y is more than a gym. It’s a cause. As a charity, we’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors.”
This year, the Liberty County YMCA hopes to raise $35,000 to help benefit local residents. This goal is a part of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s total campaign goal of $630,000.
Last year, charitable gifts from YMCA donors provided thousands of children with after-school care, gave families the opportunity to reconnect and grow together and made education and training accessible to many community members.
