School administration still evolving

POSTED: March 1, 2014 10:00 a.m.

The Liberty County Board of Education approved a number of personnel actions Tuesday, including accepting the resignation of Dr. Deborah Rodriguez, assistant superintendent for teaching and learning.
Superintendent Dr. Valya Lee said Rodriguez is retiring to pursue other interests. Lee indicated the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning position likely will change, and the system will continue to reorganize in order to improve the district’s efficiency “while keeping costs fiscally neutral.”
The school board also accepted resignations from an English teacher, a math teacher, a business teacher, an interpreter and a cook. Two special-education paraprofessionals were hired. In addition, Gregory Hill was hired as Bradwell Institute’s new head football coach.
