Members of the 2014 Young Adult Leadership Liberty class learned how Liberty County is governed during a Feb. 19 session in the county commissioner’s meeting room.
County Administrator Joey Brown and Assistant Administrator Bob Sprinkel discussed topics such as elected leaders, county departments, finance and how the county uses funds collected from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes.
After lunch, Sheriff Steve Sikes joined the group for a discussion on county law enforcement and a tour of the jail.
Young Adult Leadership Liberty, sponsored by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, promotes leadership skills in student from all three Liberty County high schools.
