Aguigui found guilty

POSTED: March 27, 2014 2:06 p.m.

Pvt. Isaac Aguigui has been found guilty of all counts in a court-martial on Fort Stewart.

The 22-year-old former soldier had faced numerous charges in connection with the death of his wife, Sgt. Deirdre Aguigui, and her unborn child.

Military Judge Col. Andrew Glass entered the ruling a short time ago after three days of testimony and closing arguments this morning.

Earlier reports said Aguigui will face a mandatory life in prison, but the trial was to go into the sentencing face after a break around 2 p.m.

During the sentencing face, witnesses expected to testify include Deirdre Aguigui's realtives, including her father, Alma Wetzker.

Issac Aguigui is already serving a life sentence in a civilian prison after pleading guilty to murder charges for the December 2011 deaths of a former soldier Michael Roark and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany York of Midway.

Aguigui said he ordered the couple killed because he feared they would expose a group of disgruntled soldiers who were plotting to overthrow the government. Civilian prosecutors alleged they used money from Deidre Aguigui's insurance after her July 2011 death to fund the group.
