Former Liberty County High School standout Raekwon McMillan continues to impress at Ohio State University’s spring practice in Columbus, Ohio.
The highly regarded freshman linebacker is working to earn playing time this coming season as a true freshman.
Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch on March 20 reported that the incoming freshman linebacker  continues to impress head coach Urban Meyer.
Meyer reportedly told Rabinowitz that “Raekwon is doing pretty good. He’s a very mature player. He’s a guy who’s got some awareness about him.”
David Regimbal of said McMillan is showing poise beyond his years.
During a March 24 Q&A session with writer Jeremy Fowler, Meyer said McMillan could immediately see some playing time.
“He’s gotta be (ready). I think he will. He’s a very mature kid. You need a man,” Meyer said.
In the same article, Meyer said landing McMillan was huge for the Ohio State program.
“One of the best recruiting jobs I’ve ever seen,” Meyer told Fowler. “I didn’t realize he didn’t decide until our home visit. I thought we had him. I was kind of relaxed. I’m glad he didn’t tell me. I would have screwed it all up.”
