ATLANTA — State Rep. Al Williams, D-Midway, recently was named legislator of the year by the 100 Black Men of Southeast Georgia.
Williams embodies the mission of the 100 Black Men of America Inc. by serving as a beacon of leadership for Southeast Georgia.
He has been an active voice under the Gold Dome, supporting educational opportunity for all Georgia students, supporting economic security for working families and making sure the government benefits everyone and not just the select few.
“Since being first elected in 2003, I have strived to be a voice for South Georgia, so it is a great honor to be recognized as the legislator of the year,” said Williams, who represents House District 168 and serves on several committees.
100 Black Men of Southeast Georgia is part of a national organization that improves the quality of life within its communities to enhance education and economic opportunities for all African-Americans.
