Former Richmond Hill High School standout Nathan Ward, who played his early baseball in Liberty County, is 2-1 for Armstrong Atlantic State University so far this season.
Ward has pitched 21-2/3 innings for the Peach Belt Conference Pirates, allowing 17 hits and 11 runs, only eight earned, while notching 16 strikeouts and holding opposing batters to a .212 average.
Fellow RHHS product Ryan Esenwein is also pitching at AASU. He has three appearances for the Pirates, notching four strikeouts and giving up 10 hits in 3.2 innings pitched.
Armstrong is 25-15 overall and 15-12 in the Peach Belt.
